BizpacK Versus an MBA

BizPacK Versus an MBA

BizpacK is a new concept in its prelaunch phase until March 16, 2009. Since I have an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, I thought it would be appropriate to compare the value of the two. Today, many people believe that an MBA is the price of admission if you want to have a successful career or to even get a reasonable position within a company. Let's look at some questions to consider.

Have you ever wondered if your MBA was worth the effort?

Did it result in a sustained, significant increase in your income?

What advice are you giving your family, friends and acquaintances who are considering going back to school for an MBA?

Is an online MBA as valuable as one received more traditionally?

Can the time and money spent be invested for a better return by a prospective student?

Will an MBA teach you how to market yourself better?

Will it teach you how to build meaningful relationships and stay in contact with them?

Will an MBA give you entrepreneurial skills to help you start and build your own business?

Does it provide you with money management skills?

Does an MBA give you insight on tax strategies and business structures?

Let's look at some of these questions as they relate to the potential of the BizpacK by United First Financial versus the MBA.

Is an MBA Worth the Effort?

I invested a lot of time and money obtaining my MBA. Was it worth it? Sometimes I have to say yes, but other times a have to say no. One of those times that I wanted to say no was the summer I took an intensive one week class on the main campus (I took most of my classes at an extension site at another college in Columbus, OH.) I spent five full days in the class and completed a personal journal over the course of the next few weeks, and I was done with that class - I didn't have to sit through 12 to 15 weeks of lectures twice-a-week to complete a class. This experience helped me to realize that I may not have been making the best use of my time and money getting my MBA. This was well into my MBA program, so I dutifully finished the coursework. My summary thoughts were that this was a money machine for the colleges and I could have spent far less time getting my MBA.

So, you might be saying, "How does this have anything to do with this BizpacK you referenced above?" I'll get to that later.

What Does an MBA get You?

What do you accomplish with an MBA? Sure you've built some relationships and created some networks. You've learned about marketing, finance, economics and the like. Maybe you've learned about building businesses for other people and how to solve their problems for them. But, are you on a solid foundation with good money management, tax strategies, personal financial and personal business building skills? Do you have a vision for your future that you can control? If you were diligent in undergraduate school and during your MBA, and had some good advisors, you might be able to say, "Yes". However, if you were like the majority of college students, the wisdom may not have attached itself to you or viceversa.

You have another chance to grasp onto some wisdom through starting your own business and utilizing BizpacK as your system to help you be successful. There are many opportunities out there to start your own business and to glory in your success. If you're thinking about going for an MBA, or you've had enough of the job scene, you just might want do a comparative analysis of your options. The time, effort and money might be better spent.

All I'm saying is that an MBA isn't the answer to all that you may be able to accomplish - keep an open mind and thoroughly explore your options. Oh, by the way, I just happen to think that BizpacK is your best option if you act now.

Hi Joseph

I feel also that colleges are jjust a money makig machine and schools before one even gets to college, need to be teaching life and money skills in a real way tokids starting at a young age and gettig more complex with age.

Hi Jennifer,

Parents and Teachers need to be working together to give the true skills you mentioned. The government needs to get out of their way. I still hold out hope.

Hi Manujeet,

Thanks for checking out my hub article. Unfortunately, BizpacK isn't available out side the USA and Canada. It is really a philosophy - can I be more successful with my time invested in my own business or in an MBA. If you have a business idea that you can turn into profitable business, I would encourage you to give it a serious try.
